Lisa, Happy Birthday! And you think after 40 is downhill... wait until 50, if you live that long. (Okay, that was mean but hopefully in the spirit of your birthday requirements - not sweet, balloony, or pastel - you will appreciate the spirit in which it was given). You know, I adore you!


Oooh, lucky you! He was wonderful, wasn't he? And that bit about his "stool" could be taken a couple ways... ;-)

Happy Birthday, Lisa! And thanks for mentioning Edward Gorey, a droll comic genius! He home, now a museum, is nearby. I'll have to do a blog post some day about going to his favorite breakfast spot and sitting on what, I was told, was "his" stool although he had died a year earlier!
