Dina

Lisa, Happy Birthday! And you think after 40 is downhill... wait until 50, if you live that long. (Okay, that was mean but hopefully in the spirit of your birthday requirements - not sweet, balloony, or pastel - you will appreciate the spirit in which it was given). You know, I adore you!

Lisa

Oooh, lucky you! He was wonderful, wasn't he? And that bit about his "stool" could be taken a couple ways... ;-)

Thanks for the bday wishes. You didn't even piss me off!

George Fitzgerald

Happy Birthday, Lisa! And thanks for mentioning Edward Gorey, a droll comic genius! He home, now a museum, is nearby. I'll have to do a blog post some day about going to his favorite breakfast spot and sitting on what, I was told, was "his" stool although he had died a year earlier!
