Either Typepad has gotten tremendously ill and is regurgitating bad facts or my stats have gone through the roof, thanks to a posting about himself, Sebastian Barry (!). It's an older post, about On Canaan's Side, and the hits on it are stratospheric.
Sometimes it happens that Bluestalking's the featured blog of the day on one site or other and I get these massive hits from the same source, directed to the same post (as that's the one they've chosen to feature). In any event, I'll take it and run with it.
If you're new here and a fan of Mr. Barry (!), you'll find a couple of posts about him here, including this interview. You can search the site for the other mentions. One or two. Or twenty.
And let's hope this is where he's sitting right now, writing away:
Isn't the internet a wonderful place?
Oh, I also found this note he wrote to himself, which fell from the photo of his desk:
I'm really not well.

Dina - you're so sweet! Virtual big, big hug. Lisa xo

Sometimes, you need a lot of hits to get you through the day. (Of course, I've never had that happen, so I wouldn't know anything about that...)
I love your writing and this blog is fabulous. More people should be reading it!

George, I would positively DIE if that happened! He'd have to dedicate it to the late Lisa Guidarini, because by the time I found out I'd already have left this earthly plain... ;-)

It'd really be funny and great if he dedicates his next novel to you! And why not?
