If you need to clear out your tear ducts ...
Pedro Zamora was 22 years old when the HIV he'd had since he was a teenager morphed into full-blow AIDS. An HIV activist who toured countless schools to inform and educate children of the dangers of unprotected sex, Zamora was also one of the participants in MTV's show "Real Life."
Zamora's friend, Jud Winick, graphic artist and Pedro's roommate on "Real Life," tells the Cuban-American's story from his teenage years 'til his death from AIDS.
After Pedro's death Jud took over his friends speaking tour, carrying on his life's mission to inform the public re: aids.
All I can say is the reality is touching, funny sometimes, and a testament to what friends who love each other are willing to do to honor his or her memory. A truly touching memorial to a kind and generous man.

I would loooove to read this. Pedro's story was the first in a long line of experiences I have had with friends/acquaintances living with HIV/AIDS. I think I was more prepared in those days than some of my classmates and peers for the real-life job of understanding the HIV/AIDS virus because I watched Pedro's story on TV. I found myself trying to spread the word about understanding and education in my school after that.

Ah, I remember this season of "Real World." Back when reality TV used to be GOOD, not just a bunch of the most obnoxious people on earth getting wasted in a hot tub.
