As long as I'm on the subject of thrills, my review for Susanna Childress's Jagged With Love is up on the Jacket Magazine site.
The downside is my bruised vanity (what's left of it), as the photo I wound up sending them is a real reminder of how crappy the past two years have been, and how loss and anxiety have really worn on me. I know, that's an external thing I shouldn't obsess on, and I generally don't, but what a wake up call when you see your face on a PUBLIC WEB SITE!
Yowzers.
If anything should send me screaming back to my former life as a health nut that should. I still vaguely recall the strict vegetarian gym rat I was before the earth tilted off its axis, but my chi ran off screaming in frustration sometime around November/December of 2004 and hasn't been answering my calls ever since.
Ah, well, pardon my indulgence here as I whine without restriction! That would be the downside of blogs... What may be even more disturbing is admitting I do actually restrain myself. Imagine if I didn't.
The important thing is, the review is there, and Jacket is BIG. Revel in the moment, and find your center, woman! Slap, slap.
I'm outta here. I have a birthday bash to attend for a friend and former neighbor who's turning 40 soon. Have a lovely evening/weekend/whatever until next time.

I agree with Andi. It's a great review and your picture is lovely. Truly.

Lisa, you look lovely (if a little serious) and you have blue eyes to die for.

Andi, you lovely person! Thanks so much for the kind words. Very glad you stopped by and hope the Masters thesis is going well, speaking of writing.

Yes, on we shall go! Onward and hopefully upward, etc.
Right now I'm just glad to see the proverbial tail end of this weekend, and tomorrow I'll be able to sleep in 'til 7:00, which will be sheer luxury. Perhaps that'll put me in a better mood.

Aw Lisa, lovely pic and I think you are like the rest of us, I hate to see my own picture nor do I do much mirror time.If you knew the lengths I went to to get the only half decent pic of me onto the Transita website.Ruth took that whilest a group of us were visitng Carlyle's house in London about 2 years ago and I had to get her to crop it and edit it to portrait.
I too am loving the blogging/ freelance writing world and though it barely buys me 4 books a month in earnings I'm getting a huge buzz out of contact with writers and publishers.
We'll soldier on shall we!
